The Kitikmeot Inuit Association would like to advise all beneficiaries that the 2015 Annual  & General Meeting will be held in Cambridge Bay from October 5 – 7, 2015 at the Luke Novoligak Community Hall.  The meetings will be held from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM daily.

Reports from all KIA departments as well as the 2014/15 Financial Statements will be presented.

Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated, The Institutes of Public Government and Government of Nunavut departments will also be making presentations to the delegation.


The Kitikmeot Inuit Association is proud to announce the final signing of the Conservation Areas Inuit Impact and Benefit Agreement in Ottawa. This Agreement will allow Inuit beneficiaries to benefit form tourism, employment, business and cultural opportunities in designated Conservation Areas.

New Land Management Policies

The Kitikmeot Inuit Association is proud to announce the adoption of three new policies for the management of Mining, Uranium and Reclamation projects in the region. These new policies provide clear and well defined guidelines for negotiations on proposed exploration and mining projects in the region.

2009 Strategic Plan

The Kitikmeot Inuit Association is pleased to announce the release of its 2009 Three-Year Strategic Plan. Replacing the existing 2005 plan, the new plan establishes four primary goals for the Kitikmeot Inuit Association and outlines nine strategies to accomplish these goals.


The newsletter was reformatted for the three languages of the Kitikmeot Region, printed and distributed to the communities in the Kitikmeot Region on March 13, 2009. With the completion of our newsletter, Kitikmeot beneficiaries will be better informed on what KIA is doing for them.
