Term Employment Opportunity West Kitikmeot Language Promoter
Location: Cambridge Bay or Kugluktuk
Type of Employment: Four Year Term
As a member of the Kitikmeot Inuit Association’s (KIA) Social and Cultural Development team, the West Kitikmeot Language Promoter will contribute to the achievement of the KIA’s vision in a variety of ways, including:
- Planning, management and effective delivery of KIA third-party funded Language Programs and services
- Assist in implementing the KIA Language Framework
- Provide Language Support and Guidance to the West Kitikmeot Communities
- The ability to travel for this job is a requirement.
- Applicants must also be proficient in the Inuinnaqtun Dialect.
Knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are usually obtained through completion of a diploma program such as Nunavut Sivuniksavut or Indigenous Language Revitalization Certificate with two years of experience in a related field. Equivalencies may be considered.
The starting salary for the position ranges from $93,524 – $118,739 plus a northern allowance of $26,464.66, a housing allowance of $6,415.67, Vacation Travel Assistance and other employment benefits. Housing may be available in Cambridge Bay.
Priority will be given to Inuit beneficiaries who meet the qualifications for the job as specified under Article 23 of the Nunavut Agreement.
