Conservation Strategy Follow Up Meetings

November 13, 2025

The Kitikmeot Inuit Association (KIA) is working on the development of a Conservation Strategy to guide future conservation and protection effort on the Kitikmeot Inuit-owned lands. A major part of this effort will be to meet with HTO’s, community members, and traditional land users across our region to discuss potential areas for protection and their concerns about conservation issues.

In September, we consulted with community members on potential conservation areas near their home communities and want to follow-up with those same individuals.

If you came to our meetings in September, we are trying to contact you to invite you to attend the afternoon meeting. If you do not hear from us, please contact your local Community Liaison Officer. Anyone who is interested (who did not attend the September Meetings) is welcome to join us for the later session in each community.
