What is a Record Suspension?

A Record Suspension (aka a Pardon) allows people convicted of a criminal offense to have their criminal record kept separate and apart from other criminal records.

That means, your convictions get set aside. This can help with getting a job, and travel.

Why get a Record Suspension?

The Parole Board of Canada (PBC) is the government agency that decides who gets a Record Suspension (and who doesn’t). You can learn more here.

Submitting this form does not guarantee your acceptance into the program and does not establish a solicitor client-relationship with lawyer Paul Falvo. It is a request for assistance. Your application will be screened before acceptance.

Are you eligible?

You must have completed your sentence (including Probation) five years ago or more. If you were sentenced to a Fine, and you did not pay it, you will not get a Record Suspension. Pay it now and wait five years, then apply.

If you have had recent trouble with police, including “drunk tank,” even if you did not get charged or arrested, your application may be questioned or denied.

It takes a long time!

It can take three years, or even more, to get a record suspension! Start now. Keep a copy of this application for your records.

How to Apply

Please Apply Online or submit your application via email to Paul Falvo. You may also submit your application in-person at your nearest Community Liaison Office. Please include a copy of your government-issued ID when submitting your application.
