EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: COMMUNITY JOINT PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE OVAYOK TERRITORIAL PARK
The Kitikmeot Inuit Association is seeking Expressions of Interest from residents of Cambridge Bay to sit on the Community Joint Planning and Management Committee (CJPMC) for Ovayok Territorial Park. The purpose of the CJPMC is to provide advice and recommendation to the Government of Nunavut on all aspects related to the operation and management of Ovayok Territorial Park.
Under the terms of the Umbrella Inuit Impact and Benefit Agreement for Territorial Parks in the Nunavut Settlement Area, the Kitikmeot Inuit Association, along with Government of Nunavut, appoints representatives to the CJPMC.
KIA is looking for two (2) individuals who demonstrate an interest, knowledge and experience in parks, tourism and Inuit culture and heritage, and wish to make contribution to the co-management, planning and operation of Ovayok Territorial Park. This is a three (3) year term appointment to December 31, 2028. Meetings take place at least two times per year. CJPMC board members are eligible to receive honorarium and travel expenses, if required, for their service.
