(April 22, 2026 – Cambridge Bay) Kitikmeot Inuit Association Chief Returning Officer James Kaylor gives Official Notice of By-Election for the Vice President of Economic Development position of Kitikmeot Inuit Association.
Competing for the Vice President of Economic Development position are:Elizabeth Aiyout, Taloyoak

- David Nivingalok, Kugluktuk
The position of Vice President of Economic Development is term to December 31, 2027.
Eligible voters can head to the Advance Poll on May 20, 2026; 10:00 am to 7:00 pm; or cast their ballots on Voting Day, May 27, 2026; 10:00 am to 7:00 pm local time. Notices of polling stations will be posted throughout the region in all communities. Proxy forms will also be available from the offices of the Community Liaison Officers in the Kitikmeot communities or from KIA’s Head Office in Cambridge Bay. Kitikmeot Inuit who are Canadian citizens, 16 years of age or older and enrolled or eligible to enroll under the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement can vote in the upcoming election.
