Welcome Baby Packages – Kitikmeot

The Kitikmeot Inuit Association (KIA) has launched a NEW Program to support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of infants.

Brought to you by the KIA, Welcome Baby Packages receive funding from the Government of Canada through the Indigenous Early Learning and Child Care Program.

KITIKMEOT INUIT CHILDREN BORN JANUARY 1, 2024, TO DECEMBER 31, 2024, ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM.

Registered Kitikmeot Inuit living outside the Kitikmeot Region can use the Urban Welcome Baby Application below . For more information, please contact Sandra Carter, Early Learning & Child Care Project Coordinator, at SCarter@kitia.ca

Packages for eligible children residing in the Kitikmeot Region can be picked up at the local KIA office. Parent/Guardian must provide ID and NTI Number as well as documentation for the child.

Welcome Baby packages will include items such as northern themed books, board books, hand puppets age appropriate for young children and are enjoyable by children of all ages.
