Wage Subsidy Programs for Employers 2025-26

  • Hire summer students.
  • Mentor youth who face barriers to employment, who are not in school, are unemployed/underemployed.
  • Inuit ages 15 to 30 at the start of the program

SUMMER STUDENTS

May 1 – start of fall academic term. Minimum 80 hours::

Help Inuit students acquire skills by providing summer work experiences.

  • Assist secondary and post-secondary students in preparation for future entry into the labour market by enabling them to obtain employment experience.
  • Enable Inuit youth to earn wages to help finance their post-secondary education.
  • For current full-time students planning to return to school in the fall.

MENTORED YOUTH

  • Promote the benefits of education as key to Inuit youth participation in the labour market.
  • Support the development and enhancement of young people’s essential employability through Mentored Youth programs.
  • Introduce youth to a variety of career options.
