The Kitikmeot Inuit Association (KIA) is working on the development of a Conservation Strategy to guide future conservation and protection efforts on Kitikmeot Inuit-owned lands. A major part of this effort will be to meet with HTOs, community members, and traditional land users across our region to discuss potential areas for protection and their concerns about conservation issues.
The KIA will be in Taloyoak September 18 (Thursday) and September 19 (Friday) and is asking for community members to participate on these dates who are traditional land users or have conservation concerns.
Meetings will at the Community Hall: Thursday 1-5 pm and Friday 9 am to 4 pm.
If you are interested in participating in these important meetings, please call Jayko at the KIA Taloyoak office at 867.561.5206 or email him at JNeeveacheak@kitia.ca on or before September 17.
