            KITIKMEOT QUALIFIED BUSINESS REGISTRY

(Please see below for the fillable PDF documents.) The Kitikmeot Inuit Association is inviting Kitikmeot Inuit majority owned companies to apply to enroll on the Kitikmeot Qualified Business Registry (KQBR). The KQBR will now be accepting applications on a rolling intake throughout the year rather than an annual deadline. However, Kitikmeot Qualified Businesses (KQB) are still required to re-apply annually to maintain their registration in good standing.

Please Note: Applicants who applied in early 2025, must resubmit their applications by July 2026 (a year from the date they were enrolled).

Please contact the Kitikmeot Inuit Association for a copy of the KQBR Policy and application forms, and the Hope Bay Project IIBA, and the Back River Project IIBA’s.

The Hope Bay Project IIBA and the Back River Project IIBA

The Kitikmeot Qualified Business Registry is administered in accordance with the Hope Bay Belt Project and the Back River Project Inuit Impact and Benefit Agreements (IIBAs). These IIBAs are legal contracts between the KIA and Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (AEM) and between the KIA and B2 Gold Nunavut Corp, respectively. The IIBAs require that benefits are provided to Inuit in the areas of training, employment and contracting. Companies enrolled on the KQBR have priority access to bidding on specific contract categories of goods and services.

If you are interested in learning more about the IIBAs, please contact kqbr@kitia.ca for plain language and formal language copies of the IIBAs.
