Expression of Interest: Nunavut Wildlife Management Board

The Kitikmeot Inuit Association (KIA) is coordinating a search to find one (1) Kitikmeot Inuk Beneficiary to sit as the Kitikmeot’s representative on the Nunavut Wildlife Management Board (NWMB). The incumbent will be required to attend all NWMB meetings and report to the KIA Board on decisions reached by the NWMB on all aspects of wildlife management. The KIA Board will make the selection at the next subsequent KIA Board of Directors meeting in July 2025.

THE APPOINTEE MUST HAVE APPROPRIATE CULTURAL AWARENESS OF TRADITIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND RECOGNIZE THAT INUIT AND NON-INUIT ARE FUNCTIONAL PARTS OF THE WILDLIFE ACT IN THE NUNAVUT SETTLEMENT AREA. THE APPOINTEE WILL BE EXPECTED TO TRAVEL TO MEETINGS ON A REGULAR BASIS. TERM OF APPOINTMENT IS 3 YEARS.
