Regional First Aid Train-the-Trainer Course

LOCATION: CAMBRIDGE BAY DATES: MID-END MARCH (EXACT DATES TO BE CONFIRMED)

10 PARTICIPANTS – TWO PARTICIPANTS PER KITIKMEOT COMMUNITY

To become a certified First Aid instructor, you must successfully:

  • Complete a five-day workshop in Cambridge Bay; and
    • Deliver one supervised course in your home community.

Participants will learn how to instruct, present to a class, medical skills, and more!

Kitikmeot Inuit Association’s (KIA) goal is to train Instructors for future employment opportunities to deliver  First Aid courses during work weeks and on weekends, as requested by communities and organizations!

Successful participants will have contracting opportunities in the future to deliver First Aid training.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Inuit registered under the Nunavut Agreement, residing in the Kitikmeot Region and planning to remain in the region who are:

  • 18 years of age or older, unemployed or underemployed (applicants under 18 are eligible for consideration only if they have graduated); and
    • Willing and available to deliver programming in Kitikmeot Communities as needed

Please Note: Priority will be given to eligible Inuit registered under the Nunavut Agreement – Kitikmeot Region. Strong literacy skills are required to learn and effectively deliver the information to future participants, and to complete the course paperwork and stay organized with it.
