KIA Conservation Strategy Meetings

The Kitikmeot Inuit Association (KIA) is working on the development of a Conservation Strategy to guide future conservation and protection efforts on Kitikmeot Inuit-owned lands. A major part of this effort will be to meet with HTOs, community members, and traditional land users across our region to discuss potential areas for protection and their concerns about conservation issues. Meetings took place in Cambridge Bay and Kugluktuk earlier this year.
The KIA will be in: Kugaaruk September 16-17; Taloyoak September 18-19 and Gjoa Haven September 22-23 to ask community members to participate on these dates who are traditional land users or have conservation concerns.
